Mission Statement: The mission of the McIntosh County Academy Media Center Program is to develop lifelong readers and effective users of information.
Philosophy: The McIntosh County Academy Media Center provides all members of the school community with access to information, reading and research assistance, and instruction that supports the curricula and educational goals of our school. Integration of the Library Media Center Program with the curricula fosters a partnership with teachers and ensures that information skills are an integral part of learning so that students will be able to function successfully in the information society. The Library Media program extends and enhances classroom experiences and stimulates the development of a lifelong love and appreciation of reading and learning.
Media Specialist: The Library Media Specialist plays a critical role in the introduction of new learning technologies, support of the curriculum, and the teaching of information skills in a positive learning environment in which all students can become independent, lifelong learners.

Computer Lab Scheduling & Calendar
FAQ's
Q: Is there a limit to the number of periods / days I can reserve the computer lab?
A: NO...however, it is expected that all faculty members will be reasonable and appropriate in their reserving of the labs and equipment.
Q: What should I do if my plans change?
A: If a faculty member finds that she/he cannot utilize the lab or equipment when reserved, they must contact the Media Center as soon as possible. This will allow other faculty members to utilize the lab if needed...or allow the Media Center staff to open the lab for student access.
How do I reserve a lab/equipment for my class?
1. View the digital calendar on the MCA Computer Labs webpage under Teacher Sites to determine if the day(s) you wish to reserve are available.
2. To reserve a day(s) in one of the available labs, speak with a member of the Media Center staff.
This discussion will collaboratively determine:
The dates/periods when the lab will be reserved.
Any supporting materials or equipment which will be needed/used during the time reserved.
Any direct instruction or support to be provided by the Media Center staff.
3. The Media Center staff will record the reservation(s) in the scheduling book.
